Junction v Penrhyn Bay - Under 11s
Bonfire weekend and everything was set for a spectacular with a few Junction players coming up against their old club on the field at Ysgol Y Creuddyn on a crisp morning.
Junction were slow to start after the Ref's whistle with a first ten minutes which looked like the boys were suffering from too many toffee apples and late nights.
Kirk Brogan lit the blue touch paper halfway through the first half with a rocket of a shot from outside of the box which hit the back of the opposition net before the defence or keeper could react.
The teams reached half time without further goals and the second half started with both teams battling hard in the midfield.
The keepers at both ends pulled off some good saves keeping the score at one nil until Penrhyn Bay drew level after Junction failed to defend and let in a leveller with under 10 minutes left on the clock.
Junction then fiercly defended several corners in quick succession and the game looked like ending in a draw.
As the clock ran down the ball broke to Fin Eccles on the left wing and after a run along the line he lobbed the ball over the Penrhyn Bay keeper from a wide position to see it land inside the back post to put Junction back in the lead.
A final few minutes of the match saw Junction battling hard to defend their lead and the match finished 2 - 1.
