Llandudno Junction F. C. 1 Llanrwst 1
A fine day here at the home of Llandudno Junction F.C. The Flyover
for our league game against Llanrwst. Gary was without Steve
Priestley but had Nathan Jones back for his 1st home game this
season for the 1st team after his short spell playing abroad.
Llanrwst had Leighton Griffiths back in their team for today’s game.
A slow start by both teams but in the 7th minute a corner to
Llanrwst with Junction unable to clear their lines, Llanrwst No.5
Rhys Davies had a free shot and scored 1 – 0 to Llanrwst. Both teams
continued to attack and in the 30th minute a shot by Nathan Jones
outside the area just going over the cross bar.
Half Time – Llandudno Junction 0 – Llanrwst 1
In the 49th minute a good ball from midfield by Llanrwst saw Arron
Jones break free and had a 1 on 1 with the Junction goalkeeper, a
great one handed save by Rob Jones denying Llanrwst of another goal.
Junction continued to attack trying to get the equaliser. In the
65th minute Neil Picton received a yellow card for kicking the ball
away after the referee awarded Llanrwst a free kick for a bad
tackle. Junction continued to attack and had Llanrwst pinned down in
there half. Finally in the 75th minute a scramble in the Llanrwst
goal area saw none other than the returning son of Llandudno
Junction F.C. Nathan Jones scoring to equalise 1 –1. Junction where
now on fire and in the 78th minute a shot by Paul Lloyd saw Llanrwst
goalkeeper Paul Roberts making a fine save. A break by Llanrwst in
the 80th minute saw Rob Jones making another fine save. In the 81st
minute on came Sam Magill for Bobby Colville.
In the 88th minute a fine shot by Leighton Griffiths just going over
the bar. Then in the final few minutes a second yellow card for
Llanrwst’s Adam Noble saw him being sent off the shortly afterwards
a straight red for Llandudno Junction’s goalkeeper Rob Jones for
retaliating after he had been brought down. The game finished all
square and I know Gary will be thinking two points dropped but
another good performance by the team.
